WOMEN'S HORMONE HEALTH

Understand your hormones. Feel like yourself again.

Hormone symptoms are common, but they're not normal. PMS, PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis and irregular cycles are signals we can read and work with.

What does a women’s hormone nutritionist do?

A women’s hormone nutritionist uses food, targeted supplements and functional testing to find what is driving PMS, PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis symptoms or irregular cycles. I am Kirstie Vesseur, a Registered Clinical Nutritionist based in Te Awamutu, working online with women across New Zealand. I read your blood tests against optimal ranges, use DUTCH hormone testing where it helps, and work alongside your GP.

A ROOT CAUSE APPROACH

Why your hormones may be out of balance

It's rarely one thing. These are the drivers I look for first:

  • ✓Low iron, B12, folate, zinc or vitamin D
  • ✓Blood sugar swings and insulin resistance
  • ✓Stress and cortisol rhythm
  • ✓Gut health and oestrogen clearance
  • ✓Thyroid function, beyond TSH
  • ✓Genetics: methylation and detox pathways

How I test

Blood tests, read for optimal

Iron studies, B12, vitamin D and a full thyroid panel.

DUTCH hormone testing

Oestrogen, progesterone and cortisol, and how you clear them.

Gut testing

Comprehensive stool testing where digestion is part of the picture.

Nutrigenomics

DNA testing to personalise your plan.

Testing is used where it changes the plan, never as a box to tick.

Questions

Do I need a hormone test?

Not always. Many women start with bloods and cycle tracking. DUTCH testing is added when it will change your plan.

Can you work alongside my GP or gynaecologist?

Yes. I write to your GP when extra tests or a referral would help.

How long until I notice a difference?

It depends on what's going on for you. Some women notice a difference within the first week. Others with longer-standing or more complex symptoms take a few cycles, and we track your progress at every session.

Is it claimable on health insurance?

Many NZ policies cover a Registered Clinical Nutritionist. You get receipts for every claim.
